| KJ Motorsports Update #21 Race #31 | ||
| By Kenny Johnson Date: 10-1-07  Saturday we went to Ohio Valley for the 30 lap Topless race paying $1,200 to win. They had 35 modifieds and we set 4th fastest time. We started the pole of the 4th heat along side of Rick Aukland. Rick took the early lead but we put pressure on him for the last 4 laps but we had to settle for 2nd. The top 2 in each heat redraw for starting position in the feature and lady luck was on our side, we started outside pole. We went on to lead every lap of the feature including the most important lap, the last lap. It was a great night that’s for sure. The win was just one reason it was a good night. Another reason was that my lucky charm Ralph Whited was there. Every time Ralph has showed up at the Valley this year we have won! Dad was making plans to come down but backed out due to the fact that he wasn’t going to be able to stay for the features. I made arrangements for Tim to go pick him up and take him back after the heats. But dad decided to just forget it. When I saw Ralph at the track it wasn’t until after my heat race. I mentioned to her about dad being disappointed about not being able to come down. Ralph volunteered to go get him and park on the back chute. I called dad and he was in bed. I told him of Ralph’s offer and he was all for it. Ralph said when she pulled in he was waiting in the driveway. LOL He wasn’t anxious or anything. So dad made his first race in less than 3 weeks from having a 4 way by-pass. He’s already trying to look ahead to next weekend. This weekend we plan to go to Eldora for the UMP Nationals paying $3,000 to win. This will be a really tough race to make and if we can just make the race I would be really pleased. Remember!
